Open Letter to Mother Nature

3 07 2008

Dear Mother Nature,

Are you different in Dublin than you are in Boston?  I am thinking there must be many Mother Natures around the world as it must be hard to be in different time zones all the time.  Plus, the weather is very different in each region.

That being said, I was wondering if you were going to bring summer to Dublin anytime soon.  It’s currently the 3rd of July and I find it inappropriate that I am wearing long pants and a sweater.  To be brutally honest, the windows are open allowing ‘fresh air’ to come into this office, and I’m a little cold.  I could use a blanket or a nice warm cup of tea.

So, Mother Nature, the ball is in your court.  Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be ready for summer.  I hope you’re ready immediately.

Love,

Liz

An Open Letter to the MBTA Regarding My Morning Commute to, and from, Work

2 07 2008

Dear MBTA,

Please instruct your conductors on the red line to travel faster than 3mph across the Longfellow Bridge. Most of us (your passengers) are well-read enough to realize that the Longfellow Bridge is a rusting metal hulk that is in dangerous need of repair. The quicker we can get across that span, the better. And, as wild and cool as being involved in an incident where our subway car falls through the tracks and into the Charles River below seems, I’d much rather not have to force my way out of a sinking metal tomb before it hits the bottom of a mucky, polluted river.
Besides, I’d ruin my shoes, and I kind of like these shoes (thanks Mom!).

Sincerely,
Your Loyal T Riders

Dear Babson College,

I don’t care what your Mama says… UMass is better than Babson.

Sincerely,

Molly

Open Letter #1

2 07 2008

To the white hair I found nestled inbetween all the brown hairs in my head:

You’re not welcome here.  Please leave immediately or I shall assist your departure with a pair of Revlon tweezers.  Do not come back.  Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.  Stay out.  Keep away.

Love,

Liz
